Boat Handling Experience Days 2018 The Pirate Castle will be running our popular Boat Handling Experience Days throughout 2018. These non-certificated one day courses provide friendly, hands-on training with our experienced, NCBA-accredited trainers, covering basic canal boat and lock handling skills. Family Day Canal Boat Trips Summer 2018 The Pirate Castle will be running Family Day canal boat trips this summer for parents/ carers with children and children with parents/ carers. The trips will run on Sundays from 2.00 - 5.00pm. The boat can carry a maximum of 12 passengers in total, and so to be fair to everyone we request that each family group be no larger than 4 people. The cost per person is only a fantastic £3.00! Read more
OPEN DAY - SATURDAY 7th JULY 2018 Please join us for our annual Open Day on Saturday 7th July, 11am - 6pm! We'll be showcasing our canal-based community activities with taster sessions across our activities range, running on the hour from midday, all at £3 per person! PIRATE CASTLE OPEN DAY SATURDAY JUNE 17TH 2017 The Pirate Castle's annual Open Day returns this year on Saturday 17th June from 11.00am - 6.00pm! There will be loads of fun-filled activities going on throughout the day for all ages including Kayaking Taster Sessions, Canal Boat Trips, Children's Arts and Craft sessions, Tombola, face -painting, Splat the Rat and Pirate photo opportunities, plus food and drinks and a chill out area to relax in! After School Kayaking Returns for Summer! Now that summer's getting closer it's time to get active, have fun and gain skills on the waterway with The Pirate Castle! We're delighted to announce the return of our ever-popular kayaking club for 8-16 year olds, starting this Thursday 11th May between 4.30 - 6pm. These sessions will run every Thursday until the end of summer term. We fundraise to offer a heavily subisidised rate of only £3.00 per session and strongly recommend pre-booking to guarantee a place, although some drop-in spaces will be available for every session. Re-Opening Event - March 9th 2017 Come and join us on Thursday 9th March between 16:00 – 19:00 to celebrate our re-opening and the 40th anniversary of our Castle home! Along with showcasing the recent improvements to our community spaces and facilities, there will be opportunities to see some of our Young Pirates unpack and assemble their new kayaks, tour our canal boats and enjoy some light refreshments with us in our fantastic Main Hall.
