Company Secretary role
The ideal candidate will have a background in governance, preferably with professional governance qualifications. Previous experience and / or familiarity with a regulator would be advantageous.

Specifically, the CoSec will be responsible for:

• Minuting Trustee meetings
• Compliance with our filing obligations with the Charity Commission and Companies House
• Working with the Chair of Trustees on the report to the statutory accounts
• Overseeing and advising the Board of Trustees on the Charity’s governance obligations and policies

We’re also looking to add building-related expertise to our Board. If you’re a surveyor or structural engineer and / or have experience in premises, facilities or estate management, we’d love to hear from you!

Our castle is an iconic Camden landmark, the only castle in Central London. It was designed by the renowned architect Sir Richard Seifert and completed in 1977. This  role will involve advising our Board on improvements to the building, prioritising works and maximising its potential.

As a Trustee, both roles will be involved in overseeing our Charity’s strategic management and governance, along with providing support and guidance to the Board and staff team when required. Our Charity is structured as a company limited by guarantee.

We hold up to 10 evening trustee meetings per annum, usually on a Monday or Tuesday 6.45 – 8.15pm.  Most meetings are held virtually, though at least two each year are held at our canal side base in Camden.
